Spotify declared yesterday (Oct. 22) that Christmas is coming early by making Spotify Premium Individual users eligible to win free Google Home Minis, which previously only applied to Premium. Users with free trials aren’t eligible, which means you can’t just sign up for a free Premium trial and snag a free Google Home Mini. Discounted Spotify Premium trials won’t work, either. If you want to set up your free Spotify account with Home, open the Google Home app, and tap “music.” To choose your default service, tap the radio icon next to the service you want.

Nope! You can make Spotify the default player on your Google home so you don’t have to specify “on Spotify”. Google Home gives you the option to do this when you ask it to play music, simply say “yes” to agree.

Select Spotify to set it as the default music player for your Google home.

In the Google Home app, tap Account in the top-right.

Tap Music under services.
Tap UNLINK.
Then, follow the steps above under Get started to link Spotify to Google Home.
